About Olney Housing Authority
The Olney Housing Authority consists of three programs; Public Housing which is under the direction of HUD, Highland West Apartments which are under the direction of the USDA and receives rental assistance from HUD, and the Northside Apartments which are under the direction of USDA. There are a total of 250 apartments located on 9 different sites throughout the city of Olney.
Public Housing consists of 180 units, of the 180 and we have 2 four bedroom apartments, 51 three bedroom apartments, 44 two bedroom apartments and 83 one bedroom apartments. All of the apartments have central heating and air conditioning and washer and dryer connections. Basic cable is provided to all of the apartments free of charge. Water is paid for by us also. Rent can be based on income or you may choose our flat rent. We also have a utility allowance which is used in determining the rent.
Highland West Apartments consist of 40 duplex apartments; 6 with three bedrooms, 26 with two bedrooms and 8 with one bedroom. All of the apartments have central heating and air conditioning and washer and dryer connections. Basic cable is provided to all of the apartments free of charge. Rent can be based on income or you may choose our flat rent. We also have a utility allowance which is used in determining the rent.
The Northside Apartments consist of 30 two bedroom duplex apartments. All of the apartments have central heating and air conditioning and washer and dryer connections. Basic cable is provided to all of the apartments free of charge.
If you are interested in renting an apartment you will need to complete an application and turn it in to the office.
Applications may be picked up at Olney Housing Authority 302 W Main St. during regular office hours or may be mailed to out of town applicants.

Complete our application and provide all documents requested.
DOCUMENTS NEEDED for all persons in the household to begin the application screening:
- Birth Certificates (children)
- Social Security Cards (all individuals)
- Driver's License, state or other legal identification card (all adults)
- Proof of Income (all income for all individuals)
- Personal References and Past Landlord References (all adults)
